Is there a way to deposit a check made out to my home party plan business into my personal…?

I work for a home party plan and need to deposit a check that was written directly to the company. Is there a bank or a way for me to deposit this check so that I can place the order they requested?
Most banks will not accept a check for deposit that is made out to a company and that you want to deposit into a personal account. You need to deposit it into a business account in that business name, and to set up the business account you will need to file Assumed Name papers, saying that you are that business.
Your best bet is to ask the person who wrote the check to write you another, made out to your personally. Or, if you have a relationship with this company as a sales person for their home part plan, they should have instructions for you as to how to handle this kind of situation, as I’m sure it comes up for others, too. I think most will have you send in the check with your order/payment, and make up the difference that is owed for other orders with your own check, if there are other orders. But the check is legally made out to that company, and it could be considered fraud for you to change the payee or to attempt to cash it when it’s not made out to you.
If you are the owner of the company, then you would have all the legal documentation of that company, and could possibly sign it over to yourself on the back. But it doesn’t sound like that is the case here at all, so it’s not a good idea for you to sign the company’s name on the back and endorse it to yourself.
This is done to protect companies from individuals stealing/finding a check made out to the company and just anyone being able to cash/deposit them. BUT, I know it can be done sometimes–some bank tellers are not good about noticing who the check is made out to.
Either get a new check, or send the check in with your order to the company and they will credit your account with it, I am sure.
